The best window vac for condensation, for most UK homes, is the Kärcher WV 2 Plus. Kärcher says it runs for 35 minutes on a charge, which is plenty for a morning round of every window in a flat. It has a wide 280mm nozzle, a 100ml tank for the dirty water, and it comes with a spray bottle and cloth so you can clean the glass properly at the weekend too.
A window vac is a small cordless squeegee with a built-in vacuum. You draw it down the wet glass and it sucks the water into a tank, which you then pour down the sink. That is better than a towel, which soaks up the water and then dries out indoors, putting much of it back into the air. But a window vac only clears the water after it has formed. It does not stop condensation. To cut the moisture at the source, run a dehumidifier (see our best dehumidifiers UK guide, or the best dehumidifier for damp bedroom UK guide for bedrooms) and dry washing on a heated clothes airer rather than on radiators. Our indoor laundry and condensation article explains why. Below we compare five window vacs on Amazon UK, from a £20s budget pick to a long-battery model for big houses. We have not tested these ourselves.

Kärcher WV 2 Plus Cordless Window Vac
The best window vac for condensation for most homes: enough battery for every window in one go, light enough for a daily round, and a spray kit for proper cleaning.
Diagnose your problem
How to Choose a Window Vac for Condensation
Four quick questions to find the right one for your home.
Problem
How many windows get wet?
A morning round of condensation only takes a few minutes per window. A big house with lots of glass, or a conservatory, needs more battery.
Problem
Just condensation, or proper cleaning too?
For condensation you only need the vac. For cleaning dirty glass you also want a spray bottle with a cloth pad to loosen the dirt first.
Problem
Small panes, showers or car windows?
A wide nozzle is quick on big windows but will not fit a small pane or the edge of a narrow window. Measure your smallest pane.
Problem
What is your budget?
All five picks do the same basic job. Paying more gets you a longer battery, a spray kit and a bigger name.

Using a Window Vac Safely
Charge the vac with the charger or cable it came with, away from water, and never charge it while it is wet. Keep it away from plug sockets and electrics when you clear wet windows, and do not let water drip into window-side sockets. Empty and rinse the dirty water tank after each use so it does not start to smell. A window vac clears water but does not kill mould. Clean mould on sills and seals with a suitable mould cleaner, following its instructions. If condensation and mould are bad and you rent, tell your landlord or local council.
Research Methodology
How We Chose These Products
We have not tested these ourselves. This is desk research, so we have not timed the batteries or measured how well each one clears water.
We checked Amazon UK listings on 6 October 2026 for stock, seller, price and what comes in the box, and compared them with Kärcher datasheets where the listing was unclear. We read buyer feedback for common problems such as drips, streaks and battery life. We favoured trusted brands sold by Amazon, with clear run times and sensible prices. Product order is our own judgement.

Important Limitations
- •We have not tested these ourselves, and all run times, tank sizes and weights are maker or listing claims
- •Amazon lists the Kärcher WV 1 at 20 minutes but Kärcher itself says 25 minutes, so we show both
- •A window vac clears condensation but does not stop it forming, so it is not a fix for damp
- •We show price bands, not live prices, so always check the current Amazon UK price

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about window vacs and condensation
No. It clears the water after it forms, so it does not run onto sills and frames or soak into curtains. Condensation forms when warm, moist air meets cold glass. To get less of it, cut the moisture in the air with ventilation, an extractor fan and a dehumidifier.
They do different jobs, and many homes use both. A dehumidifier takes water out of the air so less condensation forms. A window vac clears what is left on the glass each morning. If your windows are soaking every day, start with a dehumidifier from our best dehumidifiers UK guide.
Usually, yes. A towel soaks up the water, then dries out indoors and puts much of that water back into the air. A window vac collects it in a tank that you empty down the sink. It is also quicker and leaves fewer streaks.
Not long. Clearing condensation is a quick job, so even the shortest battery here, the Kärcher WV 1 at 20 to 25 minutes (claimed), covers most flats. Go for the Kärcher WV 6 Plus, with up to 100 minutes (claimed), if you have a big house or clean outside windows too.
Pour it down the sink after each use. Most tanks clip off or open for emptying. Rinse the tank now and then with warm water so it does not start to smell, and let it dry before you put it away.
No. It picks up water, not mould. Clearing the water each morning helps stop mould growing on sills and seals, but mould you can already see needs cleaning with a suitable mould cleaner, following its instructions. Mould that keeps coming back means the room needs less moisture.
Yes. Kärcher says the WV 2 Plus works on glass, tiles and smooth surfaces, and Bosch and Tower both list showers, tiles and mirrors. A quick pass after a shower clears the screen and cuts water spots.
The Bosch GlassVAC, because it comes with a small head as well as a large one. The Kärcher WV 1 has a 250mm nozzle and the other Kärchers have 280mm, so measure your smallest pane before you buy.
Not for condensation, because you are only clearing water. For dirty glass, spray and wipe with a cleaner first, then use the vac to suck it off. The Kärcher WV 2 Plus and WV 6 Plus come with a spray bottle and 20ml of concentrate, and the Bosch comes with a spray applicator.
Put lids on pans, use extractor fans while cooking and showering, and keep trickle vents open. Dry washing in one room with the door shut and a window open or a dehumidifier running, or on a heated clothes airer rather than on radiators. Keeping rooms steadily warm also helps, because cold glass gets the most condensation.
Fed up with wet windows every morning?
The Kärcher WV 2 Plus is our pick for most homes: a claimed 35-minute battery, a wide nozzle and a spray kit for proper cleaning too.
